We've heard all the sayings.

"First impressions are the most lasting impressions".

"Dress to impress".

"Suit up, because your personality isn't the first thing people see".

Essentially, they all point to the importance of dressing well if you want to make a positive impression.

Not because appearances are all that matters, but because appearances are what leads others to your more substantive characteristics.

Your outward appearance is ike the wrapping on a great gift - you!

Your appearance and your clothing also have a dramatic psychological impact on how you feel about yourself.  This is enclothed cognition in action.

You've felt it when you put on your best outfits.  It makes you feel powerful, joyful and unstoppable at anything you want to do.
